Doesn't anyone just hit good ole' Good Will or other thrift shops for books? Oh, man, I ALWAYS owe money for fines at oir library and joke with the ladies there that I'm helping pay their salaries with my procrastinating and bad habits of either forgetting to take back books on time or losing them. Donnell, yes, Mamma does occasionally read my blog, so she probably knows I've used the word nekkid. If not, she will find out. For a long time, I didn't know she was reading. This proved problematic, and has changed a few of my habits. :)

I have the same issue with logging on first thing. Even at work I get sucked into answering email and all of a sudden it's 9 O'clock.

I think I will try a simple 30 minutes of getting my day in order before logging on and see how that works.

Hi Susan,

Your post really resonated with me - especially writing before logging online. It's easy to click on one email link or tweet and lose a couple of hours if you're not careful.

Recently a family member suggested The Sound of Paper by Julia Cameron. One of the first exercises she explains is writing three "morning pages" long-hand every day. Even before I check email on my phone - which is usually in hand 30 seconds after waking - I now make coffee and write out those three pages to start my day. Everything else can wait. So far it's working, and I have a lot more creativity in the afternoon too. Maybe it's a coincidence, but I'm going with the flow.

Wishing you a joyous 2012 with much success in whatever resolutions you do (or do not) set for yourself. :)

I LOVE Lady Gaga! Maybe I should start working on Poker Face--although my favorite is Bad Romance. Not sure I could rock that one, though. And I KNOW I couldn't rock the outfits! Even my skin is not skin-tight anymore...

Been through the family coming to stay--a daughter and her husband stayed 2-1/2 years, having a baby boy in the duration. It was a bit stressful, but also wonderful to be that close to a new baby again.

Wow. Been there, done that, got the stress to prove it. It's great to be able to let your loved ones move back in, but it's just not the same as when they were kids and we were younger, is it?
